Vice President, Technological Strategist
Carolyn Riggs is a Vice President in Mercury’s New York office. Her extensive experience in campaign management, paid communications, and operations across multiple sectors has prepared her to tackle any challenge as a proven analytical and collaborative project manager. Riggs’ professional career, spanning over 20 years, includes multiple leadership and management positions, including a former bar and restaurant owner, nonprofit board member, former chair of two county Democratic committees, political campaign manager, and general consultant. She has also held both appointed and elected positions in her local communities.

At Mercury, Riggs specializes in paid media, strategic communications, and integrating technological strategies and tools into the fabric of organizations. Riggs has extensive experience in developing strategies and deploying tactics to connect private-public-philanthropic stakeholders to work toward a common good, which has enabled her to help design and implement successful earned and paid media campaigns. Riggs also leads voter education and engagement efforts for a wide range of candidates and organizations.

Prior to joining Mercury, Riggs worked as a campaign manager and political consultant for local, state, and federal candidates running for office in Colorado, California, and New York. Over the last decade, working with over 50 candidates and issue-based campaigns, Riggs has developed direct outreach communications strategies through targeted canvassing, earned media, direct mail, texting, and digital campaigns to hit tenable benchmarks and goals.

Riggs earned her BA in Organizational Communications from Western Colorado University and her Project Management Certificate from Cornell University. She currently lives in Albany, New York.
