Jennifer Bayer Michaels Joins Mercury Public Affairs as Managing Director
February 11, 2025

(New York, NY) Mercury Public Affairs, a leading national bipartisan public strategy firm, announced the addition of top strategic political fundraiser and public affairs campaign veteran Jennifer Bayer Michaels. Bayer Michaels has advised numerous leading national Democratic candidates and campaigns and was responsible for raising over $110 million across two winning election cycles for Governor Andrew Cuomo. She comes to Mercury’s New York office as a Managing Director.

“Jen Bayer Michaels is a well-known name in New York’s political, media, business, civic and philanthropic circles,” said Mercury Partner and Co-Chair Charlie King. “She sits at the intersection of the places where Mercury operates and she is able to provide value to our clients. We’re lucky to get her and can’t wait to see the energy and drive she brings to our team.”

Immediately prior to joining Mercury, Bayer Michaels was the CEO of JB Consulting Strategies, where she shaped the success of numerous high-profile campaigns, including Wes Moore’s gubernatorial campaign and President Joe Biden’s SUPERPAC Unite the Country. Her efforts for Governor Cuomo include fundraising achievements that remain unmatched in New York State.

“Having worked with Mercury on political campaigns and important public affairs issues, including fighting antisemitism and initiating the #UnMaskHateNY campaign to reinstate a mask ban, joining the Mercury team made sense and provided an opportunity to seamlessly work together on future campaigns to affect change,” said Bayer Michaels. “I’ve known members of the Mercury team for years and have deep relationships here. I also know Mercury nationally and have always been impressed by their reach. I look forward to adding value and to being part of their continued growth.”

Bayer Michaels’ work extends beyond the political world, as she has been involved with civil rights initiatives and healthcare advocacy. She currently serves on multiple boards, including the Mount Sinai Health System’s Department of Medicine, the Deans Council at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center and Community Board 8. Bayer Michaels earned her bachelor’s degree in international relations from The Ohio State University and studied at American University in Washington, D.C.
