James joined Mercury after three and a half years with Majority Leader Steve Scalise as his Deputy Political Director. There, he was responsible for implementing political strategy and services for candidates and House Members during the 2020 and 2022 election cycles. Prior to James’ time with Majority Leader Scalise, he worked at FP1 Strategies, servicing the firm’s political and nonprofit clients. James also worked on several New Hampshire political campaigns during the 2014 and 2016 cycles.
Growing up in Rochester, NY James then graduated from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH with a degree in Political Science and Accounting.
