Matt Johnson is a Vice President in Mercury’s New York City office, where he specializes in strategic communications and media relations.
Before joining Mercury, Matt spent 13 years working in newsrooms at the local and national level.
During his time at NBC News, Matt worked in the network’s New York bureau as an assignment manager, leading coverage of breaking news stories across the northeast. Prior to that role in the New York bureau, Matt was part of the NBC News 2020 political news gathering team and helped coordinate coverage of a historic election.
Matt began his journalism career at Spectrum News NY1 where he worked as an assignment editor, field producer and editorial researcher.
Matt is a graduate of James Madison University and has a degree in journalism.
