Randy Minniear is a Managing Director in Mercury’s Westfield office. He is one of the most respected government affairs agents in New Jersey, both within the healthcare industry and in state government affairs. In 2013, NJ Spotlight selected Randy as the #1 Healthcare Lobbyist in New Jersey on its “Top 10 Healthcare Lobbyists in New Jersey” list. More recently, he was awarded NJBiz’s 2014 “40 under 40” award.

Before joining Mercury, Randy served as Executive Vice President of External Affairs for the Hudson County-based health system, CarePoint Health. As an executive at CarePoint Health, he served on a leadership team that managed the day-to-day operations of a fully integrated health system, including operations at three acute care hospitals, a large physician practice group and ambulance services. Specifically, Randy had direct oversight of all external operations for the system, including public relations, media relations, government relations and marketing.

Prior to his work at CarePoint Health, Randy served as Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Policy for the New Jersey Hospital Association, a trade association with nearly 400 members spanning hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities and hospices. In this position, he was responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive, statewide advocacy agenda to advance the interests of NJHA’s diverse membership. Over his 10-year career at NJHA, Randy secured crucial healthcare funding for the hospital community despite the economic downturn experienced at both the state and federal levels. He is also well known for his advocacy on specific legislative issues relating to quality of care, expanding insurance coverage, providing financial relief to hospitals and leveling the playing field with other healthcare providers.

In the early stages of his career, Randy worked for the New Jersey Chemistry Council, where he managed government relations and political programs on behalf of the chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries. His career began when he served as Legislative Director before becoming Chief of Staff to former Senator and Senate President, John O. Bennett.

Randy has taught courses in politics as an Assistant Professor at Monmouth University. He resides in Howell Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, where he enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams and coaching and competing in mixed martial arts at a local gym.
